Golfing in Donegal

Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club
This course offers a challenge of all standards. 18 holes set in the Finn Valley Tree Lines Park Land with its feature hole 16th set on the shore of Lough Alan.

Ballyliffin Golf Club
Ireland's most 'northerly' club was founded in 1947. The Ballyliffin Golf Course is famous for its par 3 fifth hole. This newly designed Glashedy (Craddock and Ruddy) links course provides the average golfer with a very fair test of ability amid the rolling sand dunes and spectacular scenery of the Inishowen Peninsula. The par 3 seventh hole is played from the top of the sand dune to a green guarded by bunkers on three sides and a lake on the other.

Bundoran Golf Club
Founded in 1894 Bundoran Golf Course was originally designed by an ancient course designer GL Ballie. The first President of the Club was the Duke of Abercorn. The course was re-designed by six times British Open Champion in 1927. The great Christy O’Connor was professional at Bundoran from 1951 to 1957.

Cruit Island Golf Club
Cruit Island Golf Club is a nine-hole links golf course set on the end of a peninsula.

Donegal Golf Club
Donegal Golf Club popularly referred to from time to time as Murvagh, is situated on the beautiful Murvagh Peninsula in Donegal Bay.

Greencastle Golf Club
Greencastle Golf Club is a members owned eighteen hole course on the banks of, and superb views across, Lough Foyle. It is based in the north of the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal. The club was founded in 1892 as a nine hole course and during its centenary year opened a further nine, very challenging holes.

Letterkenny Golf Club
Is one of the most scenic parkland courses in the North West. Situated in a parkland setting, bordering on the shore of the Lough Swilly, the course was originally carved out of natural woodlands. Many of its 18 holes enjoy spectacular views of Lough Swilly. The redeveloped course includes many new features – such as lakes, mounding, greens and bunkers.

Narin and Portnoo Golf Club
Beautifully located on Gweebarra bay, the course is playable all the year round.

North West Golf Club
Lying between beautiful Lough Swilly and Mouldy Mountain, North West Golf Club has been called 'the St.Andrews of Ireland'.

Otway Golf Club
Otway Golf Club was founded as far back as 1893, making it one of the oldest golf clubs in the Republic of Ireland. As the history books tell us, the club was very difficult to get to and although somewhat out of the way this little gem is well worth a visit.

Portsalon Golf Club
At Portsalon Golf Club one can appreciate the Donegal’s Fanad Peninsula and the beaches of Ballymastocker Bay.

Rosapenna Golf Club
Rosapenna Golf Club offers both golfers and spectators the unparalleled views of the Sheephaven and Mulroy bays and the highlands of Donegal.

St Patrick’s Golf Club
This club has spectacular views over the Sheephaven Bay.
